As I announced in the most recent newsletter, the Floret Team has been working hard behind the scenes since spring to totally overhaul our online shop.
While still chock full of beautiful photos and great growing information, the new and improved Floret Shop is designed to be more user friendly and much more able to handle heavy traffic. Making the switch to a new shop platform has been an enormous endeavor and I am SO excited to finally share it with you.
Over the past few days, we’ve been quietly uploading information for all the beautiful fall-planted bulbs on sale today. Additional Floret products and gifts will be available in the coming weeks and months. Learn more about when other products will be available.
In addition to adding some beautiful new varieties, if you cruise around the Floret Shop, you might also notice some other changes, including:
- Product availability alerts. Never miss out on your favorite Floret garden supply again! This new feature will send you an email immediately after we re-stock a product.
- New payment options. We streamlined the checkout process and now offer a variety of payment options in addition to express checkout with Paypal.
- Gift certificates. By popular request, you now can purchase and send digital Floret Gift Certificates to the flower lovers in your life.
- Wish lists. Create your own custom gift registry or holiday wish list of your favorite Floret goodies.
- Expanded shipping options. With demand from across the continent and beyond, we’ve worked to expand our location-based shipping options. Yay!
These are just a few of the visible new features we’ve added to the Floret Shop. Less visible, but even more critical, are some of the changes we’ve made behind the scenes to ensure the site can stand up to heavy traffic loads. All these upgrades are geared towards helping flower lovers find specialty bulbs, seeds and supplies to grow the garden of their dreams.
Finally, one last important note: the switch to a new Floret Shop platform requires users to create a new account.
That means that if you created a Floret Shop account prior to September 2017, your login credentials will no longer work with our new Floret Shop platform. Do not try to re-set your old password. Instead, you will need to create a new account.
Creating an account is not required to make a purchase. You can still check out without logging in, but the benefits of creating an account include faster checkout for all future purchases, ability to review your complete order history and more.
Last year we learned so much the hard way and have devoted an enormous amount of time and resources into insuring that we won’t repeat the same mistakes again. We’ve done everything humanly possible on our end to test and re-test everything to make sure everything is working as planned. With any major change like this, inevitably there will be some small bumps along the way. Appreciated the changes, and all the hard work was obvious during purchase this week. Of course, your inventory could probably quadruple and still it would fly off the shelves-but thank you for the smooth shopping!
