My interview with Marie Forleo for MarieTV

Written by

I’ve been a fan and a student of Marie Forleo for nearly a decade now. She is one of the wisest, most generous, and most inspiring female entrepreneurs of our time. If you don’t already know Marie, she is the creator of the award-winning show, MarieTV, founder of B-School, an online training program that has helped more than 60,000 students (from 160 countries) start and grow successful businesses, and in 2019 her book Everything is Figureoutable became an instant #1 New York Times bestseller.

The experience was a full-circle moment for me because, after all these years of learning from her, I finally had something to share in return. We talked about so many meaningful things, including growing a business on your own terms, the importance of trusting your gut, and what it really takes to stay true to your heart and make it as an entrepreneur.

Watch my interview with Marie.

Of all the investments I’ve made in myself and Floret, I would say that B-School was one of the most impactful. I can trace so much of our success back to what I learned from Marie through the course. I love the fact that, in addition to being incredibly well-organized and thoroughly put together, it was created by a woman, primarily for women, especially those in creative fields.

I still get tremendous value out of this program and can honestly say it’s one of the best investments I’ve ever made. In addition to B-School, Marie Forleo also offers a short course in copywriting, which I’ve found incredibly helpful when it comes to writing newsletters, project pitches, and website copy. Her website is also filled with so many incredible free resources for both business and personal growth.

I am so excited to finally be able to share our conversation with you. Enjoy the interview!

    Erin,

(I suspect as busy as you are, you may never see this comment, but I’m going to share it anyway as I’m over-the-moon happy to discover this fact about you.)

Oh, wow!! I’m so excited to discover this blog post this morning! I’m a 2020 B-School grad and recently discovered your show on Discovery+. Actually, my husband found it and we were hooked. :) As we watched, he was enamored with the beauty of your world and oohed and ah’d his way through each episode. A Harley Davidson-riding, techy guy… who takes awesome photos and loves flowers. LOL

I was entranced with the peaceful beauty as well, but found your words and work ethic/style/drive really resonated. So much of what you said in those episodes hit home with me – on many levels, for many reasons. I would say, “Yes!” as you would share a thought…. And… was often choked up as I watched quietly, resolutely.

You see, I recently left my teaching career of 27 years (a few years ‘early’) to repurpose my life and follow my dreams. My fledgling ‘side hustle’ is now my full-time passion (really, it already was, but I had to divide my time between the day ‘gig’ and my real love), and is a culmination of what’s brought me here -> serving in the US Navy, serving Florida students and families, and now… serving women Ready for Change, but fearful and uncertain how to make ‘the leap.’ (Hint: I’ve learned the lead-up to the leap and our WHY are the important parts… the behind the scenes that eventually flourishes with a LOT of hard work).. Yes, there’s a lot of Marie in that statement (and now, Erin).

Imagine my surprise to find you’re a fellow B-School grad!! Oh my goodness!! My heart is full. I paused to run from studio to house to share this news with my husband. He could see the pure joy on my face and hear it in my voice, knowing how much thought/decision I put into investing in B-School and how much I connected with a fellow introvert as she quietly moved through her amazing floral world with a camera close behind…

Thank you, Erin, for sharing yourself with the world. :) And for sharing this interview with Marie. I can’t wait to watch!

    Hugs from Merritt Island, Florida…

I’m a fellow B-schooler and I just loved this interview. I subscribed to Discovery+ so I could watch the show. It’s fantastic and I felt like I saw many b-school inspired items, most notably the year long calendar on the wall. Thanks for inspiring your fellow B-schoolers, Erin!

I loved the interview! I struggle with boundaries. Hearing how powerful and peaceful your boundaries have been was inspiring. I’m going to be doing more intentional journaling using Marie’s prompts. Thank you so much for sharing your story. I can’t wait to see where the Floret goes next.

P.S. What is the name of the beautiful white and orange rose in the small arrangement on the bottom left of the screen? It’s stunning.
