Loose Ends

Written by

We spent the weekend tying up loose ends.  While it felt amazing to finally get some things handled, it was also a little exhausting. I think I’ve been sitting around a bit too much this winter!

Our new motto for 2011 is “just handle it”. So now every time either of us walks by a mess, an unfinished project or something that simply needs attention we try to stop and take care of it immediately. Ugh, this new approach s making me aware of just how many loose ends there are around this place!

I know once we dig through the mountain of “to-do’s”  the daily process will be so much easier but for now it feels like there are months of laziness to make up for.

The sun finally peeked out from behind the clouds on Sunday and its warm rays lured us outside. Ahhh, how I’ve missed the light!

The Ranunculus, Anemones and Tulips are really beginning to establish themselves in the greenhouse. It was such a thrill to pull back the frost cloth and see so much lush, vibrant green growth!

This week I plan on brewing up a big batch of compost tea and dosing all of the spring crops. It should help keep them healthy and promote strong growth.

Seeds are on their way from New York, by week’s end the first batch of plants will be nestled on the heat mats awaiting germination.

Even though we’ve got our work cut out for us, it sure feels good to get back in the game!

Happy Monday!
