better late than never

floret finished hoophouses

We had every intention of having three new additions to our g-house/hoop-house fleet completed by March first. Ha! Well, between back ordered pipe, back ordered plastic, two out of state adventures and a series of windy storms, our progress has been quite delayed. But a glorious break in the weather yesterday gave us just enough time to cover these new babies up. Detailed plans can be found on The Kerr Center for Sustainable Agriculture’s website. These particular hoop-houses are cheap, quick to build and semi permanent so if you have zoning issues or are on rented land like we are, they’re just the ticket.

    Hi Erin,
I was looking at your hoop house design and noticed the link above is no longer working. I can kind of see the design but am wondering what you did to put them in the ground?
    Thanks!

Did you close the ends up? We just put one up and we weren’t happy with the stick on zipper as the door. It wouldn’t stick to the plastic. Now trying to figure out how to frame up one end and add a door. Wondering what worked for you?
