#AYearInFlowers Week 18

Written by
Floret

For this weeks #AYearInFlowers bouquet I was inspired by the abundance of beautiful buttercream ranunculus blooming in our hoop house. Isn’t the color just so good?

A Year in flowers ranunculusSince the daffodils are on their way out I had to use the last few stems before they are gone for another year. This bouquet includes: Ranunculus La Belle Pastel Mix, Narcissus Yazz and Prosecco, Tatarian Honeysuckle, Spirea Snowmound and Honeywort.

Floret ranunculus bouquetbuttercream ranunculus#AYearInFlowers is a community-driven project to share what is blooming in your garden or in your area.

Each week on the Floret Blog I’m sharing a bouquet or snippets from my garden and also featuring a few community submissions from Facebook and Instagram. Information on how to participate is posted below. I’d love to see what is in bloom near you!

A year in Flowers week 18 photographyHow to participate in #AYearInFlowers

1) Capture.

Take a photo of flowers that are in season in your area, whether it is a fistful of flowers from your backyard or a bouquet from your local farmers market.

2) Post.

On Instagram, upload your photo and tag it with #AYearInFlowers.

On Facebook, upload your photo as a comment under my weekly post.

3) Share.

In your photo caption, please share what flowers are featured (if you know them) along with your location and date. Bonus points for listing your USDA hardiness zone and week number (i.e. #week19flowers)

A note about Week numbers.  Week numbers are commonly used in the floriculture industry and are standardized across the years. Even though we’ve been doing #AYearInFlowers posts for a few weeks now, this is the 18th week of the year.

By using the #week18flowers hashtag on Instagram, you can sort photos by what’s in bloom this week all around the world. In addition, week numbers allow you to compare what’s blooming in your own garden from year to year.

On Monday, I’ll be posting my week 19 flowers to social media. If you’re participating on Instagram, please add the #week19flowers and#AYearInFlowers hashtags to your caption.

Here are a few submissions posted over the past week:
