Announcing the 2016 Floret Workshops

Written by

workshop.5After months of planning, I’m excited to share some details for our 2016 workshops! We’re offering a total of five courses – three Seasonal Floral Intensives and two Flower Farming Intensives for 2016. If coming out to Floret is on your bucket list, you’ll want to mark your calendar for October 24, when workshop registration goes live. I wanted to provide advance notice so everyone has equal opportunity to get their first choice workshop.

You can find all of the details in the WORKSHOPS/COURSES section of the website.

Here’s a quick summary of the workshop types:

Seasonal Floral Intensives – created especially for floral designers, creatives, flower lovers and dreamers, these amazing three-day workshops are all about fostering creativity and building the skills essential to running a successful flower-based business. We’ll share natural floral design techniques, the basics of floral photography, and social media marketing. You will have exclusive access to Floret’s flower fields and gardens. As part of this flower focused retreat, we’ll gather the freshest, most coveted blooms and create billowy, dreamy bouquets. Designs will be professionally photographed and used to adorn the historic barn at A.J. Johnson Farm where we’ll enjoy an elaborate celebratory final dinner. Each workshop will feature the best of the season.

Choose from one of the following dates:

June 10, 11 & 12, 2016
With a focus on peonies, we’ll bring in a literal truckload of beauties from a super secret peony farm. Over 40 varieties varying in size, color and form will leave you breathless.

July 15, 16 & 17, 2016
Midsummer in Washington is all about color and texture. Attendees will push the envelope and work with unusual ingredients, elevating the traditional wildflower.

August 19, 20 & 21, 2016
It’s all about dahlias and attendees will get to wade into our 4,000 plant patch to harvest truckloads of these insanely abundant beauties.

Flower Farming Intensives – developed specifically for budding and established flower farmers, these three-day on-farm workshops provide hands-on training on crop planning, high intensity production, plant propagation, succession sowing and season extension. We’ll dig into the business side of flowers, marketing, and basic floral design techniques. We’ll harvest armloads of amazing seasonal flowers, help you develop a farm plan to maximize every square inch of your space, share what we’ve learned over many years of farming, and even teach you how to make a market bouquet in under a minute. It is a busy, beautiful three days together.

Choose from the following dates:

May 13, 14 & 15, 2016

September 16, 17 & 18, 2016

workshop.10
These are our only workshop offerings for 2016. Please note that registration will not open until 8:00am PST on October 24 and we are unable to reserve advanced seats, so be sure to set your alarm to snag a spot at your first choice workshop. For a limited time, we’re offering a discounted “Early Bird” registration rate. Register by November 7, 2015 to qualify for reduced rates. Regular registration rates go into effect November 8, 2015.

Our workshops sell-out quickly and after the flurry of press we’ve received this year, we’re anticipating an even greater demand. So if this is something you’ve been dreaming of doing then I encourage you to visit the WORKSHOP/COURSES section of the website for the full scoop, including payment plan information and detailed class descriptions.
