Seasonal Flower Alliance: July 10

Written by
Floret

My Seasonal Flower Alliance entries for the week are simple overhead shots of ‘Apple Blossom’ and ‘Cafe au Lait’ dahlias from my garden.

After months of working on the Floret book and documenting all the abundance of what’s in bloom throughout the seasons, I’ve decided that popping off blooms to create flower overheads are *almost* as fun to design as bouquets in a vase.  I definitely have dedicated more time to these fun little floral collages than I’d care to admit. It is just SO. much. fun.

What follows are a few of my favorite Seasonal Flower Alliance photos that others posted from the past week.  (With so much beauty being shared, it was tough to narrow it down!)

What’s in bloom in your area? Simply share a photo over on Instagram as part of the Seasonal Flower Alliance and join the fun!  Here’s how it works:

1) Snap.  Take a photo of flowers that are in season in your area, whether it is a fistful of blooms from your garden or a vase full of flowers from your local farmers market–it doesn’t have to be fancy!
2) Tag.  Upload your photo to Instagram with the hashtag #SeasonalFlowerAlliance.
3) Share.  In your photo caption, please share what flower varieties are featured (if you know them) along with your location and/or USDA hardiness zone.

It’s a fun way to see what’s in bloom both here and abroad!

If you’re not on Instagram but want to get a glimpse into what’s being shared, here’s a collage of the  most recently posted and tagged photos:

Love looking at these. I have to thank you for the recommendation to plant larkspur ‘Earl Grey’ seeds. They are blooming in my garden and now in my bouquets. In talking to my mother, she tells me that my great-grandmother used to grow larkspur!
