My Seasonal Flower Alliance entries for the week are simple overhead shots of ‘Apple Blossom’ and ‘Cafe au Lait’ dahlias from my garden.
After months of working on the Floret book and documenting all the abundance of what’s in bloom throughout the seasons, I’ve decided that popping off blooms to create flower overheads are *almost* as fun to design as bouquets in a vase. I definitely have dedicated more time to these fun little floral collages than I’d care to admit. It is just SO. much. fun.
What follows are a few of my favorite Seasonal Flower Alliance photos that others posted from the past week. (With so much beauty being shared, it was tough to narrow it down!)
What’s in bloom in your area? Simply share a photo over on Instagram as part of the Seasonal Flower Alliance and join the fun! Here’s how it works:
1) Snap. Take a photo of flowers that are in season in your area, whether it is a fistful of blooms from your garden or a vase full of flowers from your local farmers market–it doesn’t have to be fancy!

3) Share. In your photo caption, please share what flower varieties are featured (if you know them) along with your location and/or USDA hardiness zone.
