Back in March I flew out to Palm Spring to attend a wedding flower workshop by Kate Holt of Flower Wild. Designers from all walks of life, all over the world flew in for the two day beauty extravaganza. We spent the first day digging into the ins and outs of the floral business, specifically high end event work. Hearing Kate’s stories and personal experience was priceless.
It’s so strange how we never get what we think out of a given situation. I went hoping to gain an exact formula for success and hardcore technique mastery but instead came home with a new found level of calm, many life long connections and a shifted perspective.
The second day of the workshop was spent creating our dreamy bridal bouquets that were then styled by Kate and shot by none of other than Jose Villa. Watching Jose work, so present with each designer as he captured their arrangement was worth the entire trip! No air of snobbery or coolness, just humble, grounded, ultra loving energy radiated around him the entire day. I absorbed every second of the experience and would LOVE for Chris and I to attend one his workshops someday.
These photos and many more were featured on Once Wed yesterday. Kate has just announced two more workshops this fall, one back in Palm Springs and another in Hawaii. You can find all the juicy details on her website, under the workshop section or email her directly: [email protected]
